May 1st, 2008 TO: Athletes, Coaches, Sponsors, and Staff FR: Ian L. Lawless, Event Director RE: Welcome to the site for the 2008 Rocky Mountain Cycling Omnium!
We are very excited to once again host the Rocky Mountain Omnium in the glorious Denver Metro area this year. This is the 9th year of the 'RMO' and the event has come a long way since we first started in 2000. We are proud that it has always been an integrated cycling race and still stands as one of the oldest and most prestigous events featuring cyclilsts with and without disabilities in the United States. The Paralympic Games are just around the corner, and the RMO is more important than ever this year, with the opening Time Trial doubling as the final road selection event for the U.S. Paralympic Cycling Team. Although elite athletes will be laying it all out to make the team, the RMO still has alot to offer for up-and-coming racers, as well as newbies. As usual, the event includes a grassroots cycling clinic, and a great racing experience for all athletes. The RMO is also the fourth event in the U.S. Handcycling Series, and there is a lot to race for across all categories, including our new 45-54 and 55+ age groups. We are just over a month away, and more information will be posted on this site daily as it becomes available. Please feel free to email us:
